    Prednisone and plaquenil pregnancy

I have had horrible trouble every time I taper prednisone and have had to go down 1mg per week or two. BTW I saw the post on hair loss and I also have significant bald patches on temples and thickening itchy scalp by them. Hugs to all the lupies tonight, Jessi Yes, if the plaquenil controls your Lupus flares, it is best to not use the prednisone. But this time I have been able to go from 15 to 12.5 for 2-3 days then down to 10mg in another 2-3 days!!!! I hope you can get off of it completely, or at least take a small maintenance dose.

Yes, if the plaquenil controls your Lupus flares, it is best to not use the prednisone. I hope you can get off of it completely, or at least take a small maintenance dose. Take it very slow. Malaria is more likely to cause death in a pregnant woman. If you are pregnant, talk with your doctor about the risks of traveling to areas where malaria is common. It is not known whether hydroxychloroquine passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby. Women must be warned about the possible risk to the fetus and cautioned to use adequate birth control. Women wishing to become pregnant must take cholestyramine 8gm 3 times daily for 11 days and then have two leflunomide metabolite levels drawn 14 days apart to document serum concentration less than 0.02mg/L.

It's a good sign that your inflammation is going down. Also, I have had a rash on my chest for years and it is suddenly a lot better--alot. Take it very slow, tapering off, and if you have a reaction, severe fatigue, etc, talk to your doc, about tapering down even slower.

For example a medication called Hydroxychloroquine Plaquenil is not associated with baby deformities, may allow you to be on a lower dose of prednisone while it wont have any effect on your fertility. I am 20 weeks pregnant and am on a 5 day dose of 20mg of prednisone. I went to my doctor with a head cold/cough and allergies that wont go away for months i thought it was just pregnancy rhinitis or pregnancy cold I couldn't get much sleep because of coughing for about a week and so finally went to the doctor with this problem and they admitted me for 2 nights for acute asthma Hi, I'm new to posting here. I have lupus, and I had my daughter in Feb. 05. I have never taken plaquenil as I have a seizure disorder as well, however, I do know that my Rheumy told me that the only safe drug to take during pregnancy is prednisone.
